Currently tailored to the Kansas City, Missouri region this Project addresses the issue of vacant, abandoned and blighted properties, a significant challenge for many municipalities. This project aims to serve two purposes: (i) help potential buyers identify and select individual Land Bank properties for acquisition in Kansas City, Missouri; (ii) provide potential buyers with key information regarding positive and negative externalities in the areas surrounding individual Land Bank properties to help them make more informed decisions; and (iii) support the efforts of Land Bank management and third parties interested in helping target their efforts to support potential buyers and help ensure their success.

This project will identify, obtain, standardize, and analyze a range of data related to individual abandoned properties and their surrounding environs. The methodologies and tools produced as part of this project will also help real estate and other urban entrepreneurs better assess the risk and return for investing in Land Bank properties.
